LOCK-IN SESSIONS
Talk Club is a UK male mental health charity. Talk Club focuses on the number of men affected by mental health issues. Because 76% of suicides are male this makes suicide the biggest killer of men under 60 with a man dying every 90 minutes. It silently screams that men struggle to prevent poor mental health and find a way to share how they really feel. It’s Talk Club’s mission to change this through talking groups that start with asking ‘How are you? Out of 10?’ By putting a number on how we feel and explaining why, men have a way to open up and measure their mental fitness.
We run Talk Club every Thursday evening from 7:30 pm
Talk Club
PETTICOAT.
Campus Pool is home to Bristol-based women’s & queer skate brand PETTICOAT.. Alexis Lewis our Creative Administrator at Campus started PETTICOAT. to support and encourage women and queer individuals within skateboarding by creating unique clothing and skate media designed for minority genders within our community.
Poll/Jam
Poll/Jam is a unique skateboard competition in which 2 teams consisting of 3 skaters each go head to head in a 15-minute jam-style showdown to film the best edit on a specific feature. After 4 rounds the footage from each feature will be edited into a mini clip to be released on social media. The public then votes for their favorite edit.
[OFF CAMPUS]
[OFF CAMPUS] is an ongoing series of short documentary films focused on the stories behind skateboarders.
We are fascinated by skateboard culture and the stories of those who live it. This series combines archive content with interviews to explore people's individual journeys through skateboarding.
Ten Tricks
Every once in a while we let one of you lot film ten tricks in the parks, think you’ve got what it takes? Check out the ABD’s and if you think you’ve got some NBD’s hit us up…
Skate to Screen was a free 3 day skateboard cinematography workshop for 14-18 years olds in partnership with Vanguard exhibition’s summer outreach programme supported by Vans. We wanted to break the mould of traditional teaching environments and put on a selection of industry specific courses and workshops with skateboarding at its core.
Skate to Screen
Get Your Bearings’ was an after-school skateboarding club for young people at Campus Pool. It aimed to provide a space for them to be themselves, to grow and progress in their skateboarding, and have them hear first hand from skate industry professionals who have all carved out their own successful paths in life using what skateboarding teaches us all -determination!
Get Your Bearings
Skate After School
We are proud to offer after-school skate clubs for various schools across Bristol.
Skateboarding is nearly impossible to master and can be hard to even get started.
This is why we run our after-school clubs, to break down those initial barriers, grow confidence, and in short give you the basic skills you need to get rolling!
Commercial Hire
Need a filming location? A cafe backdrop? Private competition? Bussiness party? It’s all possible! The POOL and the PARK are both available for commercial hire (Please note this is not our “Private Hire” sessions that we run throughout the weekend)
Ramp Hire
SELF CONTAINED, SMALL AND PERFECT FOR ALL
Mini ramps are a great option for event hire as they have a small footprint, are quick to assemble, perfect for beginners and coaching, and lots of fun for more experienced users.
